Quality Inspector

POSITION SUMMARY Inspection of manufactured product to ensure conformance to Customer and Amtech quality requirements which includes all fiberglass and plastic parts at in-process and final inspection.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES Inspect all parts.
Perform product inspection to ensure conformance to drawings and specifications.
Use in process and final check list for inspection and recommend revisions and changes for product quality improvement.
Documentation:
Record quality data including manufacturing defects, checklist reject tags, NCR data (Non-Conformance Reports) and other documentation as required.
Perform Final Inspection.
Reviews work orders, checklists and other documents at final inspection to verify completeness and accuracy, includes stamping documents and placing acceptance inspection stickers on product.
Determines product acceptance and authorizes product shipments to Amtech's customers.
Work with and help tutor manufacturing personnel on the correct method of manufacturing and inspection of product to meet customer acceptance requirements.
Provide input to Manufacturing and Tooling departments when customer rejects occur and aid in the resolution process as required.
Perform all duties in a safe manner.
Follow all safety procedures and wear personal protective equipment as required at all times.
Perform Material Testing per applicable Work Instructions.
Using calibrated test equipment verify resin, catalyst and gel coat properties.
Document and identify acceptance results.
Participate in Quality Management System (ISO) activities as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Ability to perform dimensional and visual inspections.
Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints.
Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
Ability to use inspection hand tools.
Ability to made decisions related to accept and reject criteria affecting customer products JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Right to Know MSDS On the Job Training for position plus the following:

Basic understanding of ISO standards SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT Heated, non-air-conditioned production environment with exposure to noises, dust and chemicals.
Building is one-story with uneven flooring.
Performs work in awkward positions.
Work involves the use of chemicals.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

It is your responsibility to always work in a safe manner.

Wear the appropriate PPE for each job performed.
Immediately report any and all safety hazards.
Never use tools or equipment that you have not been properly trained on.
QUALITY:
Perform any and all tasks in a manner that meets or exceeds product specifications and customer requirements.
Know the expectation, don't assume.

ENVIRONMENTAL:
Ensure chemicals used are closed when not in use.
Immediately clean up small chemical spills, following all documented procedures.
Immediately report any large spills to your direct Supervisor.
PRODUCTION AND MATERIAL EFFICIENCIES:
Your output must meet that of the specific job you are performing.

Avoid over usage of raw materials and consumables.
5S:
All employees are expected to support and practice the principals of 5S by keeping work areas clean, well-organized and properly labeled at all times.
Remember that everything has a place and everything is in its place.

ATTIRE:
We are a manufacturer of fiberglass products and use several chemicals.
Even though we provide Tyvek or coveralls in many areas, it is important to dress in a fashion to protect yourself from chemicals and dusts.
Shorts and open toed shoes are not allowed where chemicals are used and dust is generated.
Shirts, pants or hats with inappropriate pictures or writing are not allowed.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
All employees are expected to wear safety glasses.
Quality personnel must wear the appropriated PPE for the specific job they are performing.

STARTUP PROCEDURES:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
