The House Manager ensures the safety and security of guests and staff by enforcing the rules and policies.
? Back doors are to be kept locked when not being directly observed by an assigned monitor.
Front entry door is locked overnight between 10pm and 6am.
No access to the building after hours is permitted other than allowed by rules.
The Director can make variances.
? The House Manager interacts with Law Enforcement officers in a constructive friendly fashion offering information requested.
Noah's Ark is private property and reserves our rights to privacy and the privacy of our guests.
Officers may enter by invitation or while in hot pursuit of a specific suspect.
House Managers should consult the Director and inform the Director in such events.
? The house manager patrols the building inside and out once every half hour, addressing rule violations and taking proper actions to resolve safety and security problems.
Enforcement ? The House Manager enforces all of the rules and policies firmly, consistently and fairly creating a sense of safety and serenity for all guests.

Leadership ? The House Manager is to comply with all of Noah's Ark rules and set an example in behavior and attitude.
? The House Manager is to be law abiding on and off shift.
? The House Manager is to present positive, solution oriented and professional attitudes in dealing with problems and conflicts.
Venting and profanity are to be avoided in the presence of guests, residents and visitors.
? In the face of threats, intimidation and violence, House managers must de-escalate the situation using non-violent techniques.
? The House Manager is to recruit volunteers for chores and projects possible.
? When volunteers cannot be recruited, the House Manager must fulfill chores (meals, cleaning, etc.
).
Hospitality ? The House Manager is responsible for the distribution of hygiene products, towels, clothing, bedding and food boxes.
? The House Manager ensures that guests are greeted in a friendly and helpful manner.
? Guest's needs are to be determined and met when possible.
? The House Manager replenishes supplies and notifies the Operations Director before they run out.
? House Managers are to receive donations, issue receipts, and sort/separate donations as they come in.
Documentation ? The House Manager helps new overnight guests complete the intake packet and presents them with a copy of the welcome packet and orients them to the contents and our services and facilities.
? The House Manager requires guests, residents and visitors to sign in and declare purpose of visit in the designated Sign-in or Bed Night log.
? The House Manager logs Social Services and Hospitality Services provided on their shift.
? The House Manager ensures that daily chores are completed and documents participation.
Communication ? The House Manager communicates in a professional manner, reflecting respect and dignity to all.
? The House Manager consults with and informs the Operations Director of emergencies, unusual incidents and disciplinary actions in a timely manner documenting each incident as directed.
? The House Manager reports directly to the Operations Director.
House managers are required to complete and follow all trainings within the staff training manual.
